Founder and Executive Chairman
Tony Goodwin is the founder and chief executive officer of Antal International. A graduate of Middlesex University, Tony trained as a chartered accountant before moving into financial recruitment where he ran operations for HW Group (now part of Hudson). In 1993, spotting the potential of the new professional employment markets in the former Warsaw pact countries; he set up his own business with an office in Budapest in Hungary and named the company Antal – Hungarian for ‘Tony’. Since then Tony and his team have developed substantial businesses in highly challenging environments across the globe, including Russia and China. In 2001, in conjunction with the group’s managing director, Graeme Read, Tony developed a franchise brand to supplement the wholly owned organisation – Antal International Network (AIN). In June 2010, Tony was named as one of the country’s top businessmen after being awarded a prize at the Ernst & Young London & South Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2010, he went on to win the same award in this category in 2011. Tony set up Antal Charitable Foundation which focuses on assisting children’s charities such as Duke of Edinburgh Award, Chance UK and Smiling Children. Tony also occasionally manages to find time to make use of his long-standing season ticket at Chelsea FC and has published the book ‘How They Blew It’ in July 2010.
He adds: “After graduating from Middlesex University I had an urge to do something entrepreneurial. So naturally I chose to become a chartered accountant! This was mainly to please my mum and show her I was at least being useful. She thought it was all very professional because I wore a smart suit and worked in London. The love affair between me and accountancy was brief. So instead of becoming an auditor, I put my skills towards hiring them, joining the recruitment company Harrison Willis (TMP – Hudson) in London and then opened their Bristol offices in the south west of England. I was never really cut out to be someone’s employee. So after four years in which I tested the patience of CEO Graham Palfrey Smith and Chairman Laurence Smith to the absolute limit, I bade them a fond farewell to start up on my own. And although there were a few tears shed at my leaving party, they were actually out of joy that I wouldn’t be around to annoy people anymore! In 1993 my new baby Antal International was delivered into this world. With it came a list of business mistakes longer than the entire works of William Shakespeare. In spite of (perhaps because of) my naivety, Antal somehow managed to become the leading recruitment firm in the developing markets of central and eastern Europe. Not surprisingly, it was quite a bumpy ride, but we kept going because we really didn’t know any better. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our great people, we’ve continued to thrive, and today Antal International has more than 100 offices spread across more than 30 countries, through its wholly owned and franchised operations.
Did you know that the company’s name came about by pure chance? On my first business trip to Hungary, I was called “Antal,” which is Hungarian for “Tony,” and the name stuck.

After graduating with a BA (Hons) degree in Accounting and Finance, Sagar started his professional career at Antal International in April 2006. He joined the finance team as a Purchase Ledger Clerk and Contracts Administrator. Sagar’s responsibilities quickly grew within the finance team and he began to assist with group audits and treasury management.
He was a key member of the finance team during the sale of Antal Russia in 2008 and the Antal ventures acquisitions, including Parkside Recruitment in July 2011. In 2012 Sagar was promoted to UK Finance Manager and then in 2013, after the sale of Antal Poland was promoted to Group Financial Controller. In 2014, realising his hard work and dedication to Antal, Tony Goodwin promoted Sagar to Group Finance Director and also made him a valued member of the Antal Board. Sagar also plays a lead role in the acquisition strategy with Mike Ryall and Tony Goodwin and in May 2015 completed the acquisition of Smart Moves Recruitment Ltd.

Carlos Benito is a Recruitment Learning & Development consultant and is currently undertaking Masters Level Diplomas in NLP and ILM Executive Coaching Level 7, having completed all theory modules.

Carlos has established, owned and achieved step-change growth results, with SME’s, adding to his breadth of experience and knowledge of operating within the non-corporate sector, bringing with him, scaled versions of corporate programmes and methodologies to maximise short-term results within constrained budgetary parameters, most recently, for the last 4 years within the Executive Search & Selection recruitment sector, currently operating as a consultant, trainer and digital-learning programme-designer within the recruitment / executive-search sector. He has been delivering a wide variety of management/leadership training and 1:1 coaching to all grades of recruitment management, from first-line managers through to MD’s and Chief Execs.

MD of Mumbai India
Joseph Devasia, who is the Managing Partner at the Mumbai operation, specialises in Senior executive assignments for medium and large multi-national companies. Prior to launching Antal in India in 2007, Joseph has had over 10 years’ experience in manufacturing, IT consulting and human resources in India and the UK. With his international work experience and sharp business acumen, the business has grown from strength to strength.
Joseph has studied his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Maharaja Sayajirao University, Vadodara, India.
Franchise Sales Manager
Jheel Kacharia, our Franchise Sales Manager, can be described as both curious and an efficient communicator. She has completed her Post graduation in Communication management, MA in English literature and graduation in Mass media. As a professional she brushed up her organizational skills at Harvard through a mentor manager course. Over the years she has accumulated diverse experience in the field of Branding, Marketing and Business Development. In her career she has worked with eminent brands like Mahindra and Mahindra, The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, Premier Ltd.,Nahar group etc. As Franchise Sales Manager, Jheel’s role is to introduce Antal International to professionals who are inclined towards entrepreneurship, who wish to grow with Antal globally whilst working along with the thought leaders of the industry.
Franchise Training Director
Shinu qualified as a social worker and spent the first four years of her career with social development sector. She worked as training and capacity building coordinator and supported 18 field centres in Gujarat. Shinu was one of the first consultants to work with Antal International’s first franchisee in India and built a business unit where she specialised in placing sales and marketing professionals. Shinu has now moved into the role of franchise training manager – India in March 2012. Shinu supports all the India franchise owners and their consultants by coaching, recommending improvement and driving Antal International best practice on a daily basis. Shinu regularly travels across all network offices throughout India, constantly challenging the Indian franchise owners to help them learn and improve on their critical skills for success.
Gina Mascarenhas joined Antal International 3.5 years ago and manages PR, Social Media Marketing & Internal Communications for Antal International, India. She manages Media Relations seeking presence across print, online and electronic media. She manages media queries, creates content for press releases, authored articles, newsletter, corporate brochures and sector bulletins. She also drives the social media content for Antal India to engage audiences across traditional and new media. She also manages internal communications for the India in the areas of brand identity, website and intranet in India
Gina is a Post Graduate and holds a diploma in PR and Advertising. Prior to joining Antal she worked with HANMER MSL for 2 years where she worked with clients like ACC Cement, Eureka Forbes, Loop Mobile, Whats On India, Bharti Airtel DTH.
Franchise Operations Director
Ashleigh has 15 years experience in IT recruitment having previously worked for a leading IT contract recruitment company. Ashleigh has worked her way through the myriad of sales role from resourcer, recruiter, team manager and then moved into business management as operations director. In this role, Ashleigh was responsible for the smooth running of the £17 million turnover business, overseeing the back office functions which included HR, IT, accounts and credit control. Ashleigh is passionate about quality and business processes and brings solid business support to our network of franchise owners in the operational aspects of running their business. Ashleigh joined Antal in December 2011 with the aim of applying her business acumen to the smooth running of Antal International Network and in setting up franchise owners for operational success.
Franchise Business Support Manager
After graduating in Chinese & English, Constanze has been working as multi lingual assistant for almost 8 years. She has begun working for the Chief Executive at a French Television Company in Montpellier, France as Personal Assistant, and also worked for a local Television in Nîmes, where she managed schedules, assisted in the preparation of the daily news, wrote the subtitles and was the voice of the weather forecast.
After 3 years of strong experience in managing pressure, she left to work at the French headquarters of a well known wind farm company. She began working as a front desk assistant and quickly became assistant to the operations manager.
She has joined Antal in October 2011 to help the franchise team with sales and marketing support; speaking fluent French and German, Constanze is integral to helping French and German prospects understand more about the recruitment franchise opportunity, translating documents and working on marketing campaigns and events.

A PWC trained Qualified Chartered Accountant and an MBA in Finance & Marketing. Started career with PWC and then moved to Gillette into Finance & Planning and acquired understanding of full business process for over 4 years. Moved to Middle East in 1998 to join Panasonic as Financial professional but soon ventured into Sales by heading Panasonic’s sales team for the UAE for 5 years.
In 2005 joined hands with Antal International to set up Recruitment business in Dubai. Currently working as Country Managing Director responsible for full line P&L, business expansion and recruiting senior financial professionals for clients.
Antal is a global executive recruitment company specializing in middle to senior management, commercial and technical recruitment. Dubai office serves enviable list of multinational and local clients in the field of Sales, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Insurance, Information Technology, Engineering and Construction.
Rakesh has over 17 years of experiences, working in IT and Accounts within the recruitment sector, 12 of those years where he spent here over 2 periods. Rakesh joined Antal International back in 1999 as a Junior Account Assistant then he moved across to the IT department in 2000 as a 1st Line IT Support for the global group. From there, he has progressed to be senior member of the IT team. In 2004 Rakesh joined The Impellam Group, formally Carlisle Group where he joined to run the new formed Application Support team for the group.
After a short 3 years stint away from Antal International; Rakesh re-joined Antal International as the Group IT Manager where he has applied his knowledge and experience to support, maintain and develop the IT systems in this fast and moving technology world.
