The feedback from the Antal London Conference 2016 says it all:

This was my 1st conference and I am happy that I joined. I liked very much the openness, the level of constructive and pro-active contribution of all colleagues, the professionalism engaged. With diligent endeavour let us implement in practice as many of the great ideas evolved as possible. Last but not least a healthy sense of British humour is being well appreciated by all! I trust we can have a great future together, through best sharing of information, knowledge and experience for the benefit of clients, candidates and colleagues!

Constantin Nedelcu, MSc, MBA

I have always felt it useful to have a reflective space in which to consider concepts and ideas and within the afternoon session I had just that.

James Reed

I like very much the session where we were in working group on different topic where each group lead one topic decided by whole participants. I will work through the topic for effective coaching. I hope from the group we can improve the entire Antal business Model. We had many good discussion and I think we need all together put our business in premium standard with consolidated process, image and marketing/Legal material.

Arnaud Sportouch

Participating in the 2016 AGC was a fantastic and energising experience! It provided an excellent forum to meet and get to know other Antal franchise owners and have frank conversations on common issues and bottlenecks we face. Most importantly, we brainstormed and agreed on solutions and a follow up plan to help us overcome the challenges to deliver successful outcomes for all. Congrats to Antal management team in successfully organising this event!

Nausherwan Akram

Good meeting matching 100% my expectations, well done. Practical points shared to improve our daily working life.

The Antal London Conference 2016 was an excellent event, positive energy and excitement radiated from everyone in the room – it was truly exhilarating!

This conference was very different as it concentrated solely on our Owners and gave maximum time to share and learn from each other – in line with the Antal ethos of:

“Sharing information, knowledge and experience for the benefit of clients, candidates and colleagues”

As Owners started arriving from across Europe and Egypt on Thursday, we congregated for an informal evening of catching up. The joy of meeting colleagues, friends and new connections and sharing quality time was amazing. Everyone was ready to roll with an early start on Friday. The team welcomed everyone to the event and Doug kicked off by sharing his inspirational message challenging us all to have the right attitude in all aspects of our lives.  Please click on this link to review the delegate pack for the day:  Delegate Pack London 2016 .

Owners were invited to deliver a short 3 minute introduction to their office. A great way to identify the people to connect with in the coffee breaks to discuss business and share connections.

Ute Hagen’s ‘Open Session’ was a first for Antal, the room was challenged to put forward topics they would like to discuss and find solutions to. This session was highly interactive as the room voted for the topics they were most interested in developing. Through the course of an hour, and under the guidance of Ute, 6 core themes rose to the top. The room was then divided into working groups to discuss the topics further and work together to find solutions.

The Board of Antal and Antal team gathered back into the room to hear each group present their topics and review the solutions. Dynamite! A brilliant communication vehicle to get to the core challenges our Owners face in their business and to also source solutions – not bad for a mornings work. This session was positive and constructive, everyone was now equipped with ideas on how to accelerate their own business, improve on sharing of business and develop Key Accounts.

A light working lunch was hosted in the Antal offices, a short walk from the conference venue, this gave everyone the opportunity to visit the Antal Head Quarters, stretch their legs and get some fresh air (umbrellas were finally not needed!).

Everyone was back in the room for the afternoon sessions of open learning and sharing. In these, our partners from Parkside Recruitment, Tracy Iqbal and Richard Park explained their models for performance management and shared their experiences. The next 4 speakers walked through the journey of running an Antal business, Naush Akram discussed his experiences of his first year. Arnaud Sportouch followed with his knowledge of obtaining retainers verse contingency assignments from clients. David Crossley discussed the importance of developing Key Clients and Andi Duerr rounded up the block of presentations with his insight into maintaining his high performing office in Germany.

James Reed then introduced the new Antal service offering, Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO), he explained the different solutions and emphasized the need to work with the Owners from across all offices on the delivery for the assignments Antal was awarded.

There has to be an Antal Challenge – so, the gauntlet was laid down, the room was divided into groups and each group had to deliver back to the room a killer pitch. Highly entertaining and the clear winner was the team presented by John Hebson.

Tony Goodwin addressed the room and encouraged everyone to continue sharing and working together as that was his key driver in the business. He emphasised the importance of an office being niche and that to recruit in ‘IT’ was not having a focus – it needed to be clearer and more selective.  Doug thanked all the speakers with a presentation of a book from the training legend, Steve Finkle.

And, the Conference ended on time! Everyone was welcomed to a local pub where the networking continued. After an intense day, this was well earned and appreciated by all. And, so ended the Antal London Conference 2016, in style and on a high!  The few left standing found an exceptional Indian restaurant where we relaxed and reminisced about the Conference in India.

We surely missed all the Owners and Company Owned offices that simply could not travel to London for one day – we look forward to next year already with much to do and high expectations to deliver against – we do love a challenge!

About Antal – Overview of Antal Group
The Antal Global Conference (AGC) 2014 that was held on 12th, 13th and 14th November 2014 in Mumbai, India.

This annual event organised by both our team in London, UK, and Mumbai, India is a highlight in the Antal world as owners and partners travel across the globe to meet their colleagues and friends, to enhance business partnerships, build new and develop existing ones. This event is usually held in London but this year we have decided to push our international boundaries and hold the first ever conference outside of the UK. We can proudly say that this year surpassed all expectations – it was a truly incredible experience.

Franchise Owner Joseph Devasia, Mumbai and India were amazing hosts to the Antal Global Conference. This year was full of colour, energy, teamwork, revitalisation and above all – change. The Leela Hotel in Mumbai was the venue of choice and Antal team members from across the globe met to reunite, discuss and share business in a perfect setting with beautiful meeting areas and rooms, and sleek lounge areas for more informal meetings.

The conference kicked off with an International Owners meeting; Doug Bugie, President of the Antal Network welcomed all the Owners and made positive mention of those unable to join the conference in India. Tony Goodwin, Group CEO & Chairman opened the presentations by encouraging and explaining how to build your own successful business. He emphasised the need to specialise and have a niche focus whilst also recruiting staff. Doug Bugie shared his reflections on 2014 through all the Antal Network milestones of 2014 as shown below.

Timeline

Representatives of the Franchise Advisory Council, Joseph Devasia and Andreas Dürr, gave introductions and feedback on different regions. The FAC is an initiative that was proposed and set-up in 2012 to assist franchise owners and Antal International alike to take the business forward in a coordinated effort by representing the franchisee’s at the most senior level. The aim is to improve the business by assisting our franchise owners with issues, challenges, communication, ideas and above all to make money. Ashleigh Fitzgerald, Networks Operations Director, ended the first day by giving some updated numbers on Preferred Supplier Lists, Key Clients and placements done. Wednesday evening was the first opportunity for all attendees to meet with many colleagues and network over a beverage, canapés and then a buffet dinner. The energy in the room was electric, everyone was delighted to have this time to catch up and meet the teams from different countries.

The official Global Conference opened on Thursday morning with a very warm introduction from Joseph Devasia who welcomed everyone to India. First up on the stage was Tony Goodwin who launched the long awaited and highly anticipated new brand logo and website. The impact of the new logo was instantaneous as it was met with a round of thundering applause. The sheer effort put into new logo was plain for all to see.

While Owners and consultants alike took advantage of listening to the speakers who were targeted to be relevant and useful giving strategic tips and solutions to help Owners increase their competitively in the difficult markets they might face, potential franchise prospects from India had independent meetings. They met with Doug Bugie, the Franchise team and some of the top offices within the international network such as Joseph Devasia, Peter Timmer and Alan Russell in a more private area to discover the franchise opportunity.Everyone was fascinated by the Mumbai Dabbawala’s, who showed how they have built up a fresh food delivery service starting with a few people to more than 5,000 which has lasted over 125 years! And, most impressively this system is not computerised.

Image00253In the afternoon, taking to the stage were a selection of Antal Owners and Consultants, experts in their fields to present a snapshot of facts and figures about their different countries and sectors. This gave Owners as well as our prospects a great insight in other offices, the different markets and difficulties that are faced globally. Thursday evening was another opportunity not missed to network and socialise between participants – a very important aspect of any conference.

And, as quickly as it started, it seemed sad that it was already the final day of the conference – time had gone so fast. The Friday programme was kicked off by Doug Bugie who wanted to show the Antal attendees his 10 Top Points moving forward. Doug encouraged the room to network and leverage the global capacity that Antal has to develop more business. Doug was followed by Tony Seager who gave advice on how delegates could hire top talent and there were more opportunities to attend the workshops.

Friday afternoon was a team building networking session that was only available for members of the Antal network and that was consisting of a Bollywood dancing lesson that was taken very seriously by all attendees who shared a lot of fun, laughter and sweat! The closing speech of Tony Goodwin, was like no other – everyone in the room gathered around and sat together cross legged on the floor to hear his words of inspiration and encouragement for us to all keep doing what we do best.

The final evening was the most spectacular dinner and awards celebration, delivered with the highest level of precision, professional and decorum by evening hosts Joe Devasia, Mike Ryall, Sagar Ruparelia and Doug Bugie. It is during this event that we acknowledge those who go the extra mile within Antal.

The much converted Antal Spirit of the Year award was won by Vinu Nair’s office in India and South Africa won the Network office of the year. Jim Foster of our Bracknell office won top Biller of the Year and Constanze Kästner won Support of the Year. You can find a detailed list of all the Awards below.:
