It is a big step to go from the comfort of corporate life to launching our own business and it should not be taken lightly. It is important to go through a process of self examination when you are thinking about starting a franchise.
Be honest with yourself, as you are the only person that knows the real you and the whole truth.
Ask yourself the following:
- Do you understand what is involved in franchising?
- Do you have the temperament for self employment?
- Do you have the time to invest to recoup the investment in the business?
- Are you prepared to work hard?
- Do you have sufficient funds?
- What do you want to achieve in life?
Know yourself and what you are looking for; beware of your strengths and weaknesses so you can select the business which fits closely to your strengths.
Take time to understand the business sector you are getting involved with and in particular what is required to be successful. For example, when launching an Antal Recruitment franchise we inform all our prospective owners about the recruitment process and that this requires hard work. We cannot do the job for you; we provide all material, methods and tools but are not able to make the calls for you. This will apply to any business you launch; someone has to have the confidence to do the sales.
Once you have given ‘self examination’ due consideration, you are ready to take the next step towards launching your own business and being your own boss.
