Russia’s most specialist recruitment business, Antal, opens its third office today expanding its presence in Kazakhstan, with an office in the capital, Astana.
The global recruitment business ‘FiveTen Group’, which owns Antal, entered the Kazakhstan market in 2010 opening an office in Almaty, the commercial centre. In just three years, the Kazakh operation has grown to 16 specialist recruitment consultants focusing on middle to senior level roles across the country. However, client demand for a physical presence in the Kazakh capital has increased and has now been met.
“Astana is a modern city developing at some pace. It is the major city in Kazakhstan in terms of attracting investments and is receiving considerable government support. Major companies either have already opened their offices in Astana or are planning to do so in the near future, so this trend will only continue”, comments Natalia Kurkchi, who heads up Antal in Kazakhstan.
“The demand for highly qualified specialists and managers in Astana is now very high, since it became the capital in 1997 – previously business activity was negligible. Real GDP growth is forecast at 6.4% this year which is clearly representative of a market we are excited to be in” says John Rose, Global CEO, FiveTen Group.
John continues, “By 2016, Kazakhstan’s GDP per capita is expected to reach $15,000, compared with the current level of $12,200, and Kazakhstan will be classified as a “high-income economy” by the World Bank if that is met. Despite such commercial growth, companies still face considerable difficulty in sourcing candidates on their own, without the assistance of professional recruiters like Natalia and Galina Zubkova”.
“A lack of highly qualified candidates in Astana creates a lot of problems for employers. Sometimes companies have to relocate candidates from Almaty, where there is a bigger supply of professionals. Additionally, there are very few professional recruiters who provide a high-level of service in Astana, which is why Antal will find considerable opportunities for the company by opening an office in Astana”, says Alexey Tretyakov, Managing Director of PERI Kazakhstan, one of the market leaders in formwork and scaffolding technology.
“Our physical presence in the city will satisfy client demand, especially across the production and mining industries in Karaganda, Kostanay, Kokshetau and other nearby cities. We look forward to spreading the benefits of the Antal brand further afield” concludes Natalia.
